letters to myself

Recently I had the unfortunate displeasure of partaking in CONQuest 2023. Yeah. That con. The one with the 4 hour lines in 34C heat. This is a short post after the cut.

I'm still compiling and processing so much of what happened on that accursed sunday but rest assured a write up is coming soon. I need to finish up some final exams (I'm finally graduating if the gods will it) then I can pour my everything into this.

For now, here's a teaser of what exactly the fuck happened:

• 4+ hour lines
• food/drink selling banned by organizers after 2:30 pm, note that most people were still in line by this time
• additional 20 minute line for the escalators of the venue
• i hope you didn't need to go to the bathroom on the 2nd floor because newsflash those bathrooms are closed to all but guests and staff and you as a peasant must go to the first floor bathrooms
• corollary of the previous point: multiple piss bottle sightings

There's a lot more to this story, such as an ongoing potential lawsuit and the whole refund situation which I intend to monitor closely. For now, this is all I can say till I finish my shit and organize all the evidence. Peace out yo.
